Fast From Armchair Jesus

John 13:14-15

Jesus with a water basin and towel kneeled to wash the disciples dirty feet before the Last Supper.  Jesus  showed us more than servant leadership. He gave us the promised future by saying “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand. (John 13:7).  At the table was Judas, his betrayer; Peter, his denier,  and the disciples who pledged to die with Him but fled to save their own lives.

Reflection: God’s mercy is greater than our sins.  Pray for those who truly love you but whose unrecognized weaknesses cause you pain.  

Fast: Fast from armchair Jesus.  Prayerfully, consider an act of servanthood to effectively wash your loved ones feet and keep your heart clean.
